Jamie Kraus, MSEd, BCBA, LBA, is a New York State Licensed and Board Certified Behavior Analyst® and special educator who has been working with children and families across home and school settings in New York City since 2010. She became a BCBA and New York State Licensed Behavior Analyst in 2013. Jamie is deeply committed to her work, sharing, “I love what I do. I love the children and families I work with, and I love doing it in NYC.”
Jamie specializes in autism and works with children of all ages. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English, Rhetoric & Global Culture from Binghamton University, where she served as captain and choreographer of the University Dance Team. She holds a Master of Science in Special and General Education and Applied Behavior Analysis from Hunter College, graduating with highest honors. Jamie is trained in the Social Thinking Methodology®, Lively Letters™, and BITES® Feeding Therapy.
Over more than a decade in private practice, Jamie cultivated a progressive, naturalistic approach. This ethos ultimately inspired Progressive Kids, the boutique practice she brought to market in 2020. Her work emphasizes collaboration across disciplines, partnering closely with families, educators, and related service providers to ensure continuity of care and meaningful progress.
Jamie treats the whole child, regardless of diagnosis, within natural environments including home, school, and community. Her approach extends beyond traditional behavioral therapy, supporting development across socialization, communication, executive functioning, emotional regulation, academics, fine and gross motor skills, and activities of daily living. She strives to understand each child within the context of their home and school life, prioritizing rapport-building before program implementation and tailoring programming to each child’s unique needs and goals.
Her work is rooted in fostering both skill development and a strong sense of self. Jamie is committed to helping children thrive in mainstream environments through targeted, supportive intervention that promotes confidence, independence, and inclusion.
Most recently, Jamie was selected as one of a small cohort to complete advanced clinical training in the Social Thinking Methodology® in California, where she trained alongside Michelle Garcia Winner, Pamela Crooke, Allison King, Ryan Hendrix, and their team.
