Founder, Director, Therapist

Jamie has been working with children of all ages, and their families, in the home and school settings since 2010. Jamie has a passion for working with children and an innate ability to lend her talents to children with developmental differences.

Jamie is a New York State Licensed, Board Certified Behavior Analyst® who works with all children and specializes in Autism.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, Rhetoric & Global Culture from Binghamton University, where she served as the University’s Dance Team captain and choreographer. Jamie holds a Master of Science Degree in Special and General Education as well as Applied Behavior Analysis from Hunter College, graduating with highest honors. Jamie is experienced in The Social Thinking Methodology©®, Lively Letters™ trained, and BITES® feeding therapy trained.

Jamie started Progressive Kids in 2020 and prides her practice on its progressive approach; using a modernized, naturalistic approach to foster each child’s progress in conjunction with multi-disciplinary collaboration.  Jamie works closely with each child’s family, caregivers and educational team (including school staff, doctors, psychologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists and speech therapists) to share goals, ensure treatment continuity, and continuously evolve her practice as a behavioral therapist.

Jamie treats the whole child, regardless of diagnosis, within their natural environments of home, school and community. Unlike traditional behavioral therapy, Jamie focuses on all aspects of a child’s life including socialization, fine and gross motor skills, cognition, behavior, self help skills, academics, emotional regulation, executive functioning, communication and pragmatic language. Jamie strives to understand the child within the context of their home and school life and develop rapport prior to program implementation. Each child’s programming is individualized and catered to their specific needs and goals.  Treatment targets development across domains while prioritizing the child’s sense of self and enjoyment. In efforts to achieve best outcome cases, Jamie believes in mainstreaming children while delivering powerful supplemental support.

Jamie’s unique style of working with and advocating for children with special needs has fostered growth and development while boosting self-confidence and inclusivity in the mainstream environment.

Most recently, Jamie was one of three selected to complete The Social Thinking Methodology©® clinical training in California. She met with the team, had meaningful conversations, and observed the work of Michelle Garcia Winner, MA, CCC-SLP, Dr. Pamela Crooke, PhD, CCC-SLP, Allison King, MS, CCC-SLP, Ryan Hendrix, MS, CCC-SLP, and other team members.
